Planning of Review
TET applies a risk-based approach in its review, and independently determines the intensity of its reviews, including
- which subject areas are to be given particular priority,
- the extent to which the review should be full or based on sampling, and
- the extent to which the Board initiates reviews on its own initiative.
TET organizes its reviews based on annual risk and materiality assessments, enabling a targeted and risk-based selection of review subjects.
Access to Information
In accordance with legislation, TET has full access to information held by DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit. Most of TET’s reviews are conducted from on-site facilities provided by DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit, where TET independently performs searches in the authorities’ IT systems.
Some of TET’s reviews are carried out at other locations where DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit process information that cannot be accessed from the designated facilities. TET has access, at all times, to any premises where the authorities process information or use technical aids.
TET may also require DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit to submit written statements on factual and legal matters that are relevant to TET’s review activities.

TET controls that:
DSIS and DDIS observe the provisions of the Acts on
- collection of information,
- internal processing of information, including security of processing and deletion of information,
- disclosure of information, and
- on the prohibition against processing information about natural persons resident in Denmark solely on the grounds of their legal, political activities.
DSIS performs
- operational tasks, in accordance with applicable rules and guidelines.
CFCS observes the provisions of the Act on
- interception of communications,
- processing of personal data, and on analysis, disclosure, and deletion of data.
the National Police’s PNR Unit observes the provisions of the Act on
- processing of PNR data on behalf of DSIS and DDIS.
