Standards for Danish Intelligence Review Activities

In accordance with the legislation, TET has full access to information held by DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit. However, in practice, the following fundamental challenges arise in the conduct of TET’s oversight:

  • TET can only review those parts of DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit of which it has knowledge.
  • TET does not have the resources to perform full reviews of all parts of DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit.
  • TET’s reviews must be capable of documenting the conditions within DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit using a limited amount of resources.

To address these challenges, TET has developed a set of standards for its review activities. The standards consist of the following three main components:

Mapping of IT infrastructure aims to provide TET with the necessary insight into how DSIS, DDIS, CFCS, and the PNR Unit acquire, process, and disclose information.

Planning of reviews ensures that TET’s resources are prioritised based on up-to-date risk and materiality assessments.

Performance and verification is an ongoing process, in which the choice of review method is always based on a specific risk assessment of the individual review subjects.
